Brain and Spine Foundation Nepal is a not-for profit organization registered (Registration No. 226156/076/077) on 13th Ashwin 2076. The Foundation aims to work with all those involved in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of brain and spine disorders and diseases. One of the guiding principle of the foundation is dissemination of medical information related to these diseases.
In Nepal, there are two neurosurgical journals being regularly published Nepal Journal of Neuroscience (NJNS, ISSN 1813-1948), official journal of Nepalese Society of Neurosurgeons (NESON) and Eastern Green Neurosurgery (EGN, ISSN 2705-4470), published by Department of Neurosurgery, B and C Medical College and Teaching Hospital, Birtamode. NJNS is being published since January 2004 and EGN is being published since April 2019. However these journals accept articles mainly from neurologists and neurosurgeons.
The objective of any journal is to provide information about various research projects, interaction with own fraternity and to publish scientific articles of research and clinical practice. We at the Foundation believe that the neurological problems should be tackled with multidimensional probe. We focus on awareness programs, information dissemination and involve other healthcare workers like physiotherapists, physiatrists, neuro nurses, emergency physicians, neuro-anaesthesiologists, pain physicians etc. We aim to publish this journal twice a year, on March and on September.
We request all healthcare workers who take care of brain and spine patients to send articles related to their work. You can send case reports, review articles and original articles for publication in this journal.

Dear Friends,
Greetings from our charity organization, Brain Spine Foundation Nepal (BSFN)!
It is my absolute pleasure to thank all the well-wishers of BSFN for having reposed confidence on the management of the organization during ‘thick and thin’ journey this past year. Your faith and trust have given the scope for us to put our best abilities and drive the organization through better decisions. BSFN was formulated with an idea of providing support to patients with neurological and spinal conditions and also those involved in care of such patients directly or indirectly. A major work in such process would be to provide these patients with proper guidance and support in form of education related to these disorders as well help in updating the knowledge of the health workers and caregivers.
As a part of our academic endeavors, we had organized a 2-days Neuroconference “1st Manipal Annual Neuro-conference” which was held on 13-14th of, December 2019 and was a massive success. The conference was deemed of a national repute with conduction of cadaveric course of endoscopic disc surgery in Manipal Teaching Hospital on the first day, followed by highly esteemed doctors all around the country including delegates from India presenting their papers which highlighted their inputs in the field of Neuroscience, on the second.
With this success on hand, we have now decided on publishing papers on Neuroscience which will be a means of sharing experiences and updating doctors, nurses and health workers in the field of neurological and spine related disorders. As coming from an academic sector, we need to emphasis on the keeping ourselves updated with the new advances happening around the world. Newer patient-centric approaches and techniques are surfacing day by day, which I believe will be a ‘cherry on top’ on the excellent services that we all provide. To achieve this goal we have decided to start JOURNAL OF BRAIN AND SPINE FOUNDATION NEPAL which will be published starting from 1st of September 2020. I wholeheartedly request doctors, nurses and health workers to share their knowledges and experiences in form of papers in our journal which will be the ultimate means of development of neurological and spine related sciences.
Thankyou.
